Can You Change the River and Cliff in ACNH

  • Animal Crossing: New Horizons allows you to move and rearrange rivers and cliffs, allowing you to entirely alter your deserted island into your own personal paradise.

There's nothing stopping you from creating an intricate, multi-level playground for your pals and visiting villagers to explore once you've figured out how to transform the landscape in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. So, in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, here's how to change rivers and cliffs.

In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, how to modify rivers and cliffs?

Animal Crossing: New Horizons only gives you the ability to change the course of rivers and move cliffs later in the game. You'll be able to obtain construction licenses from the Nook Miles Kiosk once you've 'completely decked out your island.' It's in the Resident Services center, and you'll get the Island Designer app from Tom Nook once you've upgraded your island sufficiently for K.K. Slider to come to town. Here's how to gain terraforming equipment in Animal Crossing: New Horizons in a nutshell. You need prepare enough ACNH nook miles tickets for it.

Improve your island to the point where K.K. Slider will come to visit.
This necessitates a three-out-of-five-star rating on the islands.
Talk to Isabelle at Resident Services and select "Island Evals" to learn about your current island evaluation.
K.K. Slider's visit will be planned for the morning of the next day as soon as you receive three stars.
The Island Designer app will be given to you by Tom Nook after the show.
Purchase the appropriate permits from the Nook Miles kiosk to add the ability to edit cliffs or rivers to the Island Designer app.
Cliff Construction and Waterscaping Permits each cost 6,000 Nook Miles.
Select the type of terraforming you wish to undertake using the Island Designer app on your phone.

When you first use the Island Designer software, there is only one tool to help you design a route in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and for terraforming cliffs and rivers in Animal Crossing: Wild World. You'll need to obtain additional permits for New Horizons. Construction permits are available for purchase at the Nook Miles Redemption kiosk located within Resident Services. The Cliff Construction Permit, like the Waterscaping Permit, costs 6,000 miles and allows you to adjust heights across your island, so you'll want to save up a little money.

You can use the Waterscaping Permit to extend land into rivers or remove land from river banks by launching the Island Designer app on your NookPhone. You can modify the direction a river travels across your island by extending one bank and subtracting from the other bank. Maybe it's not twisty enough for you, or you'd like to straighten it out so you can build a bridge across it (because they can be a bit finicky).

The Cliff-Construction Permit allows you to construct or deconstruct earthen walls that are the same height as your villager and require either a slope or a ladder to climb up. Waterfalls can be created by combining cliff construction with waterscape design. Play around with it to create the perfect island.
